Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System (YARTS)

Natural Area, National Park or Protected Area

ADA Accessibility Notes

All YARTS buses are kneeling buses and come equipped with wheelchair lifts. Service animals are welcome at any time.

The Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System (YARTS) is a regularly scheduled, fixed route, public transit system that operates year-round in the Yosemite region. YARTS provides service into Yosemite National Park and the gateway communities along its routes and is convenient, comfortable, economical and safe. YARTS has a fleet of over-the-road coaches that feature reclining seats with seat belts, restrooms and electrical outlets.

We like to say, “You Could Drive, But Why?”, but it is so much more than just that. Get out from behind the wheel and you will see Yosemite in a whole new way.

YARTS operates year-round on Highway 140 through Mariposa County and Highway 41 through Madera County with multiple runs each day. There is also daily service from Mammoth Lakes and Mono County during the summer (typically June through September), when Tioga Pass Road is open and also between Sonora and Yosemite Valley from Tuolumne County from May-September.

YARTS makes connections with all intercity transportation providers in Merced and Fresno: Merced the Bus, Fresno Area Express (FAX), Amtrak, Greyhound, Boutique Air at the Merced Airport and Fresno Yosemite International Airport. In Mono County, YARTS provides connections with Eastern Sierra Transit that runs between Reno, NV and Lancaster, CA on Highway 395 and in Sonora with Tuolumne County Transit.

In Yosemite, all YARTS routes connect to each other at Yosemite Valley Visitors Center. YARTS alsomakes contact with all shuttle services including the free Valley Shuttle and the Tuolumne Meadows Shuttles (summer only).
