You've never experienced anything like this art hike. Trails and Vistas art hikes unite live music, dance, storytelling, sculpture and painting with the natural environment to create one of a kind art hikes in the Sierra Nevada. On Sept. 6 & 7, 2014 attendees from around the country will hike along Spooner Lake for Trails & Vistas 11th art hike. The theme for the art hikes is “Meadows to Mountains."

In addition to the art hikes, Trails & Vistas World Concert will take place at Sand Harbor on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014.

More than 30 participating artists including musicians, dancers, poets, singers and visual artists will perform aside a stunning alpine lakes with breathtaking vistas among the aspen trees. Each hiker is encouraged to slow down, breathe deeply and listen to the language of nature during Trails & Vistas. Art hikes will be offered every 15 minutes from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Specialty hikes include family hikes for those hiking with children, meditative hikes for those wanting an especially quiet and spiritual connection (adults only) and leisurely hikes for those who prefer or need a slower pace. Tickets sell out in advance nearly every year. The early bird special, $30 for adults and $10 for children, is available through July 15. The art-hike lasts approximately 3 hours and is best for people in good physical condition who are comfortable hiking at altitude.

“We believe that the arts transform the human experience, that art is a gift to be shared. We proudly support this annual event,” explains Elizabeth Archer, co-artistic director of the Trails & Vistas art hikes.

Trails & Vistas will be offering a lively and memorable evening concert at Sand Harbor.
