Here, conversation takes center stage. The Alley, located in historic downtown Mariposa, does not have a television. Only good food, good friends, 16 rotating craft beers on tap, an ever expanding boutique wine list many from the Sierra Nevada, and artisan cheese and cured meats.
That's entertainment, Sierra Nevada style. The Alley is a Wine Lounge, Beer Garden, Local Pub located in downtown of Mariposa just outside Yosemite National Park. The inside is full of rustic charm, local culture, local knowledge to point you in the right direction. The beautiful back patio is bursting with fragrant flowers.
The Alley was originally just that...a delivery alley for the adjacent Bogan Building (circa 1865) which housed many businesses over the years including a dry goods store, Chinese restaurant, Mariposa Soda Works, The Bank of America and many more! The Alley was converted to the first C.H.P. office in the late 1920s-early 1930s.
I should know. I own The Alley along with my husband.
In addition to the locally sourced fruits, vegetable, and cheeses, The Alley makes every effort to source beer and wine from producers that have eco-friendly methods (i.e wind, solar, organic, bio-dynamic).
The entire interior is constructed of eco-friendly materials: reclaimed wood, reclaimed metal, zero V.O.C wall treatments like "American Clay", recycled shutters. Lots of indoor and outdoor plants for great air quality.
The Alley recycles everything possible, and with kegged beer there is zero waste...so drink up!
