Sequoia Resort Vacation Homes and RV Park - Gateway to Kings Canyon and Sequoia Parks

Lodge or Resort

Driving Directions

From the North: Take Hwy 99 South. Fresno will be a good place to stock up on groceries! At Fresno, follow Hwy 180 East "Kings Canyon Highway." After passing the little town of Minkler, watch for the sign showing 180 turning left to "Squaw Valley." There are gas stations in Squaw Valley and later in Clingon's Junction - the last gas before heading up the mountains. Your next sign to watch for is "Pinehurst 5 mi" and turn right onto Hwy 245. Just past the Tulare County sign, and opposite the California Fire Department look for the "Sequoia Resort" sign on your left and turn into the driveway.

From the South: Take Hwy 99 north and turn off at Hwy 198 EAST towards Visalia. Visalia is a good town to stock up on groceries! Continue on Hwy 198 through the town of Lemon Cove. There is a 24-hour gas station there - the last before you head up the mountains. Watch for "Road 216 - Woodlake" and make a left turn there (a Prince Mart gas station is on the corner), go across the Kaweah River and look for the "Badger 19 mi" sign with a right turn onto Dry Creek Drive. Follow Dry Creek Drive - slowly, at some points it is a one-lane road. At the end there is a stop sign at Mountain House cafe. Veer to the right onto Hwy 245 and continue until you see the "Sequoia Resort" sign on your right, opposite the California Fire Department. Turn into the driveway.

Eco-Friendly Notes

Sequoia Resort is reclaimed from an abandoned high-density private village. The pond has been dredged and provides flow-through water for lower properties. Plans are underway for a solar farm to be established for alternative energy. Our delicious water is from filtered wells.

Locally or Family Owned Business Notes

The Hesse family has owned Sequoia Resort for 10 years. Local labor is used for ongoing renovations and I am a family friend and the manager. I live onsite with my two grandchildren.

The Sequoia Resort is 370 acres of pine and oak in the southern Sierra Nevada foothills, near the entrance of Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. We have walking trails throughout the property to get you close to nature. There are paved biking roads and free bicycles for guest use.

Lodging Style and Amenities

We have four vacation homes that sleep 3 to 8 travelers, with large living rooms, comfortable beds and fully-equipped kitchens and laundry rooms. All bedding and linens are provided. Each house has a large view deck with a propane BBQ and patio furniture.

So you can embrace the local culture, a different local artist's work is featured in each house. There are also 6 RV spaces with full hook-ups and shower and laundry facilities available. A small store sells snacks and cold drinks - with free DVDs for evening entertainment!

The store also offers a free wireless telephone and free wifi for guest use.

Pet Friendly Notes

We love dogs!

Recreational Opportunities

You can hike and bike at Sequoia Resort - free bicycles for guest use. There is a trampoline, horseshoe pits, basketball net and volleyball sand court.

Best of all, we are a 1/2 hour drive from the entrance to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks with its famous Grant Grove, Boyden Caverns, Buck Rock and Zumwaldt Meadows. Hume Lake offers swimming and rental boats and canoes.
