Priest Station Cafe
ADA Accessibility Notes
Parking lot, restroom and dining room are ADA accessible.
Priest Station Cafe is located at the top of Priest Grade, and is once again owned and operated by descendants of the Priest family who pioneered this historic stagecoach stop in the 1850s. Now under six generations of family ownership, this casual restaurant serves the local community as well as visitors around the world from its newly renovated facility.
The structures at Priest Station are historic, ranging from the water well built in the 1850s to the 1940s mountain cabins which are available for overnight accommodation. The dining room displays numerous old photographs which chronicle the history of this former stage stop. The owners take an interest in local history and when you purchase select locally themed books, it benefits the Southern Tuolumne County Historical Society. Special care has been taken to make the parking lot, cafe and restrooms (available for customer use) ADA accessible. Also available for purchase at the restaurant are Yosemite guides and climbing books selected by famed alpinist and Priest Station co-owner Conrad Anker.
This is one of the few "view" restaurants in the area. Open year-round, the restaurant serves home-style cooking, specializing in hand-formed burgers. German specialties such as bratwurst and home-baked desserts are also offered. Beer and wine are served.
We acquire produce seasonally from local farmers, and 100% grass-fed, hormone-free beef year-round from local ranchers and from Priest Station's neighboring Priest Ranch. We grow blackberries, walnuts, apricots, pomegranates, nectarines and olives at Priest Ranch and use in restaurant. Compost vegetable and yard waste. Recycle all glass, aluminum, plastic and cardboard. Restaurant remodeled using energy-efficient heating and cooling system, compact fluorescent lighting, and reclaimed wood wherever possible. Compost-ready, decomposable cups (made from corn) used for drinks to go.
Pet Friendly Notes
