The airport is also home of the PMLAA (Pine Mountain Lake Aviation Association), an aviation group with more than 250 members (see the website for more information).
The group meets the first Saturday of every month and invites everybody to participate. The meetings are normally potlock dinners with a speaker. A newsletter is published every month.
Every year, PMLAA also organizes an airport day and the EAA flies the Young Eagle program (http://www.youngeagles.org/) to introduce young people to the beauty of flying.
Finally PMLAA organize safety seminars and works closely with the airport director.
PMLAA hosts every year "It's a Wrap" a Toy Drive For Needy Children.
Pine Mountain Lake Airport (E45) has been the gateway to Yosemite National Park for more than 30 years. It is a public airport located in Groveland on Ferretti road. For a description of the airport see: http://www.airnav.com/airport/E45 It is home for more than 100 airplanes, many of them rare and historical. It average 90 takeoffs and landings a day.
The airport is also the base for a large group of lady's pilots
