Nelder Grove/Kelty Meadow/Texas Flats/California Meadow Horse Trail

This horse trail takes you through the Nelder Grove of Giant Sequoias. The single track trail begins behind the "Bull Buck" tree, winds around Soquel Meadow, and on to Kelty Meadow. Kelty Meadow, also a recognized horse camp, gives you a spectacular view of Fresno Dome when at the meadow. From Kelty Meadow, the trail takes you on to Texas Flats, also a recognized horse camp.

From Texas Flats, the trail crosses Sky Ranch Road. Following a rustic railroad grade road to yet another single track trail, you make a short descent to California Meadow which was once the site of a logging mill. From California Meadow you will make your way back to the turnout and parking area near Nelder Grove.

When in Nelder Grove, do not venture off road or trail.

Trail Water and Watering Holes

Creek crossings at Nelder Grove, Kelty Meadow, Texas Flats, and California Meadow. Ample water for horses.
