There is a paved handicapped unloading zone, paved pathway to the nursery shop and to the handicapped accessible bathroom. Many of the other pathways are made with decomposed granite forming a hardend surface suitable for limited wheelchair access.

California Native Plant demonstration gardens, with self-guided tour list & map available at front desk. Gardens include the endemic Carpenteria calfiornica, a beautiful evergreen shrub that only grows in eastern Fresno County, blooms May-June. Shop has organic growing supplies, local arts and crafts, unique gardening tools and amenities. Also local field guides for the Sierra, books on growing native plants & vegetables and on local native American lore and history. Low key atmosphere with a few customers at a time.
Charming, shady, park like 2 acre location surrounded by gardens, picnic tables by Little Sandy Creek available for public use. Waterfall and goldfish pond, displays of potted native plants for purchase. Low key, knowledgeable staff can answer your questions. Customer restrooms, drinking fountain, families are very welcome, come and let the kids stretch their legs.
Many varieties of California foothill native trees grow on the nursery grounds. Historic turkey ranch brooder house 'Octagon' near herb garden. Covered patio built with 'round wood' harvested from sustainably run Grand Bluffs Forest near Dinkey Creek area. Can view Little Sandy Creek at the west end and Sierra Foothill Conservancy's Black Mountain Preserve and the Sierra mountain range to the east of the nursery.
The site is located at the convergence of two creeks, Little Sandy and Big Sandy, and is a prehistoric site with Native American acorn grinding holes. There is a schedule of classes available that lists Saturday instruction on a variety of topics ranging from Birds of Prey to Native American Basketry.
Pet Friendly Notes
Dogs are allowed on leash only and visitors must bring a pooper scooper with them. Please do not allow your dog to mark black nursery plant containers.
