Gold Bug Park is owned and operated by the City of Placerville. The City of Placerville is the only municipality in the state of California to own a gold mine.
Gold Bug Park is located 1 mile north of Highway 50 on Bedford Avenue in Placerville, CA, at 2635 Gold Bug Lane.
There is NO CHARGE for entrance into the park or for day use of picnic areas and trails. Parking is FREE.
Admission to Gold Bug Mine includes a self-guided audio tour, a hardhat, and admission to the Hendy Stamp Mill. Adults $5.00 Youth (10 - 17 yrs.) $3.00 Kids (3 - 9 yrs.) $2.00 2 years and under Free
All persons under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Gold Bug Park offers visitors an opportunity to tour an actual Gold Mine and hear some of the stories of prospector's hopes to strike it rich. Step back in time to the mid 1800's and experience what it was like to be a miner in the gold rush era.
Family activities include gold panning, the historic stamp mill, self-guided and guided tours, two miles of hiking trails, and the Hattie Museum and Gift Shop.
