The Craft Guild of Nevada County is proud to present its annual Winterfaire sale of fine handmade crafts at the picturesque Nevada County fairgrounds in Grass Valley.

The Craft Guild was born over 30 years ago when five recently retired professional women wanted to explore the possibilities of starting home based businesses. They were soon joined by others interested in opportunities and the guild was born, based on an updated model of European craft guilds in the middle ages. In order to pay for sales space on the fairgrounds, members worked during the county fair and exchanged their hours for renting the Senior Center building. Their sale 28 years ago, was the first craft sale ever held at the Nevada County Fair Grounds. Since that time, the Craft Guild has gained financial independence and now holds their annual sale in the large main building at Gate 1.

This year at Winterfaire, you will find over 40 juried vendors selling everything from finely crafted garden art and jewelry, to fine home decor and boutique food items. About 70% of sellers live in Nevada County and the rest come from the adjacent area. It has become a popular venue in the quest to buy handmade goods for holiday giving.

This year there are several new vendors and an updated food concession with a place to sit and enjoy a good cup of coffee and maybe a slice of homemade cake or pie. We will be open for your shopping pleasure both days from 10AM to 4PM at the Nevada County Fairgrounds (11228 McCourtney Rd), Gate 1, Main Street Building. You will find door prizes, free activities for children and as always – the very best in handmade crafts. Parking for this event is free.

The Craft Guild is a non-profit, social welfare organization and gives proceeds from Winterfaire back to the community to such worthy organizations as Women of Worth and the Interfaith Food Bank.
