Bishop Creek Basin Lakes

Lake Sabrina awash in fall color. – Jim Kellett

ADA Accessibility Notes

Intake II has a handicap fishing pier installed.

Four lakes in close proximity in the Bishop Creek Basin allow anglers a chance to enjoy plenty of fishing in different locations without much driving. The lakes are open from March to November. They include Lake Sabrina, at the head of the Bishop Creek Canyon; South Lake, at the head of the South Fork of Bishop Creek; North Lake, a higher altitude lake; and Intake II, a smaller lake in the valley floor.

Best Access and Parking Areas

There are parking lots at all the lakes and alongside the roads. The roads are well marked.

Hints and Tips for Fishing this Area

These lakes are well-stocked for the season, so the fish are usually nice and hungry. Get some insight into bait and flies that are working at the small stores and resorts at South Lake and Lake Sabrina. Shore fishing is just as productive as being in a boat, and the location is spectacular, which makes any day a good day of fishing.
