ADA Accessibility Notes
The site is accessible via the Bald Mtn. Road. This is a dirt road.
The log cabin warming hut is utilized year round. A guestbook and dedication is in the warming hut. The log cabin is rumored to have been built by two sons of a forest ranger. At one time the fire lookout and warming hut was used by an organization to save animals. The organization was called Project Wildlife. DJ's Snowmobile Adventures, Inc. had the log cabin renovated and dedicated as a public warming hut in 1988. DJ's Snowmobile Adventures, Inc. provides both guided and self-guided tours to this location.
Bald Mountain sits at an elevation of 9,104 feet and is located at the beginning of the Glass Mountain Range. In winter it looks like a scoop of white ice cream; no trees. The viewpoint is 360 degrees providing views from Crowley Lake to Mono Lake. DJ's Snowmobile Adventures provides both guided and self-guided snowmobile tours to this location in winter.
