The Auburn Art Walk is a partnership between the arts community and historic Downtown and Old Town merchants.
Four times a year, on the second Thursday of April, June, August and October from 6-9 PM, a free public reception is held to showcase local and regional artists who display original artworks in business venues.
Approximately 35 venues, including restaurants, book stores, galleries, gift shops, and specialty stores welcome the public. Visitors stroll from venue to venue viewing the artwork and chatting with the artists and shopkeepers. There is no shortage of fresh local eats, wine and merriment. Music is also part of the art walk experience, with live performances scheduled along the way.
Art Walk maps are available online at PlacerArts.org/artwalk. Printed maps are also distributed during each Art Walk reception. A free shuttle bus is available for those who wish not walk the entire route. A friendly docent provides additional information to art walk-goers who board the shuttle.
Presented by PlacerArts in cooperation with the city of Auburn Arts Commission and the Downtown Business and Old Town Merchants Associations, the Auburn Art Walk enables a shop local experience and access to the thriving Placer County arts community. Established and emerging artists display and demonstrate their work, which remains on exhibit for two months.
The free, delightful Art Walks allow the visitor to feel the pulse of the Auburn community. Find the American River, trailheads and bike paths nearby.
